In Samoa murderer pleads not guilty
A young man who was recently convicted of a brutal killing at Vaitele has pleaded not guilty to another charge of murder against him.
Found guilty of killing taxi driver, Faiumu Ete last year, Patrick Jonathan Crichton appeared in the Supreme Court for another murder hearing yesterday.
This time, he is accused of killing a mentally ill New Zealand man.
Hans Dalton was found dead in a gallon of water at Tafa’igata Prison on Boxing Day, last year.
Yesterday, Crichton pleaded not guilty before Chief Justice, His Honour Patu Tiava’asu’e Falefatu Sapolu. The defendant was represented by lawyer, Rosella Papali’i.
Chief Justice Patu then adjourned the hearing until 17June 2013.
Meanwhile, he ordered the accused to remain in prison.”
The prosecuting lawyer is Precious Chang, of the Attorney General’s Office.
