Lolo now requires Executive Branch to submit bi-weekly reports

Department directors and heads of agencies with the Executive Branch are now required to submit to the Governor’s Office bi-weekly reports as well as bi-weekly agenda of activities to perform to ensure smooth delivery of government service to the people of American Samoa.

The latest policy was outlined in a Jan. 31 memo from Gov. Lolo Matalasi Moliga saying that it’s necessary that his office is kept abreast of actions executed and implemented by all agencies of the Executive Branch.

He said this is necessary to “forge seamless exchange of information and ensuring that we are synchronizing all our activities gravitating to the attainment of our vision, goals, objectives, strategies and activities.”

Beginning Feb. 15, directors and heads of agencies in the executive branch are requested to submit the Agenda of Activities to be performed for the week of Feb. 18 to Mar. 1st. Then on Mar. 4, they are to submit the Bi-Weekly Report for this period, along with Agenda of Activities for the following two weeks.

Lolo says this will be the “standing process” for the rest of this year and amendments to this policy will be made along the way if changes are warranted.

“We promised the people that we will always place their needs first, hence I urge you that our services are strictly formulated to ensure the accommodation of these needs,” he said. “It is for this very reason that we need to synchronize our service delivery system to preempt any interagency bottlenecks which may degrade the quality of our services to our people.”

He asked his cabinet to comply with this established process and “always remember that our sole purpose of existence is to serve our people.”
