American Samoa hosts future leaders of Pacific meeting
American Samoa is hosting a future leaders of the Pacific meeting this week.
The gathering will provide a mechanism through which the voices of younger generations of future Pacific leaders will be brought to the attention of today’s government leaders.
It will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and hand-on workshops that highlight island voices and perspectives.
Among the major discussion topics will be climate change, women’s empowerment, non-communicable diseases and seabed mining.
Samoa’s Head fo State, Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese, is giving the opening address and Niue’s Premier Toke Talagi will also speak.
