![Linda Jeanne Dickinson Brown said her father, Russell Dickinson, was the 2nd mate on the four-masted ship, the Seth Parker, that left here on July 13, 1935 with 17 American Samoan men on board, bound for Honolulu, Hawaii. The voyage may well prove to be the first known exodus of American Samoans to the US – predating the ‘fitafita’ exodus.
