Visiting doctors
Dr. James J Stragand MD, PhD & Linda Stragand BSN. BS, CGRN will be leaving American Samoa tomorrow after two weeks of volunteer service at the Ear, Nose & Throat clinic at the LBJ Tropical Medical Center. Originally from Oregon, they are currently working in Honolulu at the Straub Medical Center. With Dr. Stragand and Linda is Dr. Akapusi Ledua, Chief Medical Officer of LBJ.

![Members of the Department of Public Safety Marine Patrol Unit were part of the Ocean Week (Our Island’s Ocean Is Life) kick off last Saturday, when they — along with the instructors from the Toa o le Tai Ocean Heroes Program led by marathon swimmer Bruckner Chase—made a historic nine-mile relay swim from the Island of Aunu’u to Utulei Beach Park. The swim was completed without incident, despite rough waters and high waves.
