American Samoa cable car plans raised with Swiss diplomat
The Swiss Consul General to American Samoa says there could be co-operation between the territory and Switzerland in reviving the cable car on Tutuila.
Marion Weichelt, who is also the Swiss ambassador to New Zealand, was speaking after talks with the executive director of the American Samoa Visitors Bureau.
She says her country has the expertise, should the cable car up to Mount Alva be rebuilt.
“If you were going to go and build a cable car again, I thinks you shoud let Switzerland know - we have huge knowledge of building cable cars.”
