Gabbard appointed to Florida judiciary

Governor Rick Scott of Florida has appointed Jennifer Gabbard to the county court of Hillsborough County (Tampa, Florida) April 19, 2012.

Judge Gabbard is the daughter of Ben and Audrey Gabbard of Dade City, Florida.  She is the great granddaughter of Lopati & Palepa Yandall and the granddaughter of Agnes (Pako) & Ben Gabbard of Leloaloa, American Samoa.

She is a 15 year veteran of the State Attorney's Office of Tampa, Florida and holds a B.A. from the University of Florida as well as the Fred Levin School of Law at the University of Florida.

Judge Gabbard credits her insight and love of the law with her roots in her Samoan Heritage.
