After the tour, they held a prayer service at the Fa’avaefouoleLMS Fellowship Center conducted by Rev. Menise Sasa, the church pastor.  It was followed by dinner and a time for the community to fellowship with the players.  The highlight of the evening was when the players performed their haka for the community.

At the conclusion of the tournament, the team returned to Ft. Hood on Sunday, July 8 to worship together with members of the Central Texas community. Rev. Sasa spoke on the importance of humility in a persons’ life.  The service was followed by a to’ana’i at the church hall.  The team was presented with appreciation gifts from the church and community.  The team also expressed their appreciation for the support from the Samoan community in Texas.

As a token, they presented Rev. Sasa and the church a football helmet signed by the team as well as a banner from the competition.  The festivities concluded with a prayer and the singing of Lota Nu’u.

The team mom Falesoa Timu Tuamoheloa of Ili'Ili accompanied Team Samoa although her grandson Nathaniel Tuamoheloa had to back out of the trip last minute to represent Am Samoa in the Olympics in London.
