Tiloi "Teejay" Mamea, Jr laid to rest in Hawaii
He was a son, brother and inspiration to many.
Tiloi "Teejay" Mamea, Jr. was laid to rest after a battle with brain cancer.
Songs of faith, love, and hope filled the Koolaus Friday morning in honor of the 14 year-old.
"I wanna thank the Lord for giving us the best 14 years," said his mother, Jocelyn.
The Waipahu Middle School student who was diagnosed in March with stage 4 brain cancer died on May 11th while in American Samoa. It was a dream trip made possible by the Make a Wish Foundation.
"I felt sad cause he is no longer with me. We used to have fun together but now he is gone and I don't feel good," said friend, Hawaii Tali.
