Five arrested in Samoa over a billboard calling for marijuana to be legalised
The police in Samoa have charged five men for displaying a billboard calling for the legalisation of marijuana in Samoa opposite the entrance to Faleolo International Airport
The group now face charges of obstruction on the road and disorderly conduct in public places.
Police say the men blocked the entrance to the airport with rocks and had their billboard on the main road facing the airport.
Airport security failed to remove the men then contacted police.
Those charged are Timoti Mamoe, Fa’afoi Solomona, Sapa Mapusone, Risati Tuato, and Falaimo Solomona.
All five men are remanded on bail pending appearance in the District Court.
