I’a Lapo’a Overall Champs

(L-R) Vaughn Simpson, skipper and owner of the fishing vessel “Fu’a II” — a boat from Samoa — stands with Sonja Stanley Galea’i of Sunshine Inc, exclusive distributor for Steinlager beer, a major sponsor of the 13th Steinlager I’a Lapo’a International Game Fishing Tournament, during their awards banquet held Saturday evening, May 12 at Sadie’s by the Sea.

Next to Sonja stands Brian Atkins (aka “Archie”) and John Booker, teammates and crew members of the Fu’a II, which took the overall gamefishing championship, with the highest tournament score. In addition to thousands of dollars in cash prizes, a trophy and bragging rights, the Fu’a II team, by virtue of their win have also won an invitation to the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) tournament to be held next year in Costa Rica.
