Theresa Togia (R) -pictured here with Business and Professional Women of American Samoa president Jennifer Joneson - is the BPW scholarship recipient for 2011-2012.

Theresa is a 2005 graduate of Tafuna High School who applied for the scholarship with a winning essay, and she said afterword that she considered the win "a miracle" and "wonderful".

Theresa has chosen to major in business and marketing, and says it is her goal to graduate from ASCC with her AA degree within the two year time frame, and continue on for her Bachelor's Degree.
A resident of Iliili, Theresa was born in Apia, which makes her ineligible for Pell Grants or U.S. financial aid. BPW chooses to help her, and often will help young women like her, who do not have access to U.S. student aid.

BPW-AS has paid for Theresa's ASCC registration, tuition, and books for the two year period.
