Family and police searching for missing man from Auasi

The Department of Public Safety is putting all efforts into the search for a man who was reported missing since March 13, 2012. Family members of Fa’afetai Tuinei filed the missing persons complaint with police on March 19, 2012.

According to an announcement by the Department of Public Safety, Fa’afetai from Auasi was last seen on March 13, 2012 when left for work. Nu’u Tuinei, father of the missing man told Samoa his son works for the Department of Public Works with the National Emergency Grant (NEG) and he went to a party at their office and did not return home.

Tuinei said his family has tried every option in looking for their son and yet they have been unsuccessful.

Tuinei is appealing to the public that whoever has information on the whereabouts of his son to please contact police.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Division, Captain Lavata’i Taase Sagapolutele told Samoa News that they have been looking for Fa’afetai since the CID received this case. He added this matter was referred to their office late Friday afternoon and since then the Detectives have been working after hours searching for the man.

The Captain said they also worked on the weekend for this case and yet they have been unsuccessful.

He said if anyone has any information about this man to please call 633-1111 or 911.
