Spay-Neuter clinics underway
Rachel Baird, (L) a Registered Veterinary Technician, works with Pearl Talamoa of the local Department of Agriculture during the joint effort underway this week to spay and neuter nearly 400 dogs in the territory.
Hosted by the American Samoa Humane Society in collaboration with the Animal Balance organization and Humane Society International, the response to the spay and neuter clinic has been overwhelming, according to the organizers, who are looking for long-term solutions to the ongoing problems associated with the lack of medication, doctors and facilities for veterinarian services in the territory.
