ASHSAA Girls Volleyball Update

During the 2012-2013 American Samoa High School Athletic Association (ASHSAA) Girls Volleyball League games, last Friday at Samoana High School, home of the Sharks, the Nu’uuli VocTech Wildcats Girls Volleyball team (pictured) was defeated by the Sharks, who are the defending ASHSAA Varsity champions, in two sets, 25- 18 and 25- 10. The Wildcats were able to defeat the Sharks in the Junior Varsity game, 25-20, 21-25 and 12-15.

In other ASHSAA Girls Volleyball action on Friday, the Leone Lions defeated the Fa’asao Marist Cougars at Malaeloa Gymnasium in Varsity action, 13-25 and 23-25. In the Junior Varsity match up, the Cougars walked away the victors in three hard fought sets, 16-25, 25-17 and 15-11.

Games are played on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. ASHSAA volleyball coordinator Tumua Matu’u invites the public out to all of the games in support of ASHSAA sports.

Tomorrow’s games will have the Wildcats playing the Cougars at the Malaeloa Gymnasium in Varsity and Junior Varsity action. The other games tomorrow are the Lions vs. the Tafuna Warriors meeting up in Junior Varsity action, while the South Pacific Academy Dolphins will play the Lions in the Varsity game, with both of these games being played out at the Dolphins’ gymnasium.

On Friday to close out the week, the Sharks will travel to Kanana Fou High School to play the Stallions, while the Faga’itua Vikings will play host to the Warriors.

Games have a scheduled starting time of 4:30pm.
