Island wide highway lighting project bid closes Monday


The Invitation For Bids for the “Island Wide Highway Lighting” project, issued by the Procurement Office, is set to close before 2pm next Monday.

Federally funded, the project work entails replacing damaged and missing light poles with new light poles, pole arms, luminaries, photocell controls and wiring and involves 23 sites from Nu’uuli to Satala.

Additionally, these units will replace the tsunami damaged and missing highway light poles with the “like and kind elements matching existing as near as possible”. Moreover, this work includes anchor bases, anchor bolts, nuts & washers, wire and cable, rigid and flexible conduit, light pole, pole arm, and luminaries with photocell controls.

According to Procurement, the project contractor is charged to familiarize themselves with all aspects of repair and replacement at the various sites.  Specific details of the project are available at the Procurement Office in Tafuna.
