Hawaiian Airlines Thursday night flight was delayed
Hawaiian Airline's flight out of Pago Pago on Thursday night didn’t depart until Friday afternoon due to the delay of the inbound flight.
Responding to Samoa News inquiries, Hawaiian spokesman Keoni Wagner said that during boarding of the flight departing Honolulu late Thursday afternoon, “the aircraft's air conditioning system malfunctioned. Mechanics were troubleshooting the problem and eventually the decision was made to use a different aircraft.”
He said the flight departed Honolulu at 9:14pm Thursday. The return flight back to Honolulu was further delayed by 10 hours for crew rest requirements and was rescheduled to depart Pago Pago around 1pm yesterday.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused by this unavoidable delay. We've offered hotel accommodations to those customers that needed them and also are offering each affected customer a $300 travel credit for future use as a gesture of our regret for the inconvenience,” said Wagner via email from Honolulu.
