Tonga opens new airport facility at Eua
A major New Zealand funded aid project in Tonga has been opened by the country’s deputy prime minister, Samiu Vaipulu and the New Zealand High Commissioner, Dr Jonathan Austin.
New Zealand provided about two and a half million US dollars for the ’Eua Island Kaufana airport runway upgrade and a terminal building.
Dr Austin says it is a demonstration of New Zealand’s commitment to assisting Tonga to develop its tourism sector.
