Samoa Senior Officer fined $550

People in high ranking positions should not abuse the authority that comes with a title.  That’s the message from Judge Mata Tuatagaloa last Thursday, when handing down sentencing for Senior Sergeant Sa’u Filemu, who was convicted of assault and swearing at his co-workers.

Sergeant Filemu was ordered to pay a fine of $550 or serve a two months jail sentence.  The Sergeant admitted he slapped a police officer on 6 June, 2011.
