Hundreds gather in Samoa to farewell Fuataga
A brave fighter, a leader and a caring man with a big heart. These words echoed around Lalomanu yesterday where hundreds gathered to farewell the Tuiatua Fa’anofonofo, Fuataga Tuita'alili Tuvaifale Suemalo Kasimani Lautusi.
Among the mourners were the Head of State, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi, the Masiofo, Her Highness Filifilia Efi, Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, members of the business community, friends and relatives.
A three-and-half hour service, led by Reverend Elder Isaia P. Tiatia, remembered Fuataga the businessman, athlete, sports administrator, budding politician and most importantly a man who had a heart for his family and village. Fuataga’s widow, Sala Shan Kasimani said Fuataga’s last days showed the type of person he was.

![The Boys & Girls Clubs of American Samoa now has a clubhouse that will serve as the center of its activities and programs. The newly renovated building is located next to Tafuna High School, across from the airport, and was most recently the former Army PX. The project was completed through public and private partnerships, and will house a ‘community school’.
