Fiji paper charged for publishing NZ story

Fiji's military regime is taking court action against the country's top selling daily for publishing a New Zealand story reporting that football's governing body Fifa was looking into the fate of a Fiji sports official.

The contempt of court proceedings launched by military appointed Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum is part of a long running regime witch-hunt against the Fiji Times which has seen News Corp's Rupert Murdoch forced to sell it, and its current publisher owner jailed.
