ASG closed today for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Today, Monday, Jan 16, was declared a local government holiday in observance of Martin Luther King’s Day in a Jan. 6 memorandum by Gov. Togiola Tulafono.
All ASG offices are closed and those required to work will be compensated in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Local businesses, such as the two local banks, are closed today as is the U.S. Post Office in Fagatogo. Other businesses, including the StarKist Samoa cannery are open as usual on Monday .
Samoa News did not publish a print edition today in observance of the holiday but will be out again on Tuesday.
