  • American Samoa politician says girl died for lacking US$20   1 year 15 weeks ago

Were you concerned when you were a judge??? You of all people as a judge had free reign to bring LBJ's incompetence to light. Did you try to sway public opinion even with the veterans association on your concern for this persons death. Would you have had the courage instead of hiding behind your frock to address LBJ's issues? Your no different than anyone else pumping a smear campaign to promote yourself. Come on Sandra and committee, didnt anyone not try to dissuade this judge from stepping into an arena that promotes nothing but mudslinging. Dude your obviously not a very good warrent officer. Your tactics will get your entire force annihilated in combat just to promote yourself. Sa'o lelei toeaiina...e le fautuaina.

  • Be Advised: OMV enforcing tinting regulation, re-locating license sticker   1 year 15 weeks ago

Ipu you wrote and stirred up about this very issue on tinting a couple of years ago. I think it was to protect the children from sex offenders and shooters hiding behined tinted windows.
But yes I do agree, you should pay your own way to de-tint?? Same thing with the government windows...the funding should come out of their department or the directors pay. They should have known better instead of taking advantage of the ignorant.
Windows that still should be allowed the legal tint-grade are DPS for surveillance etc......(not the patrol cars), DHSS to protect victims only, and the governors vehicles for security purposes.
This whole thing is waste of time when there is no enforcement.

  • Op-Ed: PM Tuilaepa says PNG treading dangerous grounds   1 year 15 weeks ago
    hm

Go ahead Mr.Tuilaepa you are doing good things for your country, help those in need and wait for results,we never know whats going to happen. If its good, great, if its bad then better luck next time. We all want to help someone when they are in trouble. But when it comes to our own we lose that battle, its a two way street not a freeway. If Mr. Tuilaepa wants to help let him,but he should cash in his savings first and the checking so we can be on the safe side of things here. I would like to know where my hard earn tax money is going too. Or maybe he does have more than $100,000. I got to see this.

  • Op Ed: Who is looking out for the children?   1 year 15 weeks ago

Seems to me that people use alcohol as an excuse to escape from reality. What is the use of this toxic drink that people tend to loose themselves and do idiodic things. They go to church and act like theres nothing wrong. God don't like that and He hates it. Our own flesh and blood, we sometimes focus too much on(fa'alavelave) and neglect our childrens needs. You rather get notice and praised by your peers and family you forget what you brought in this world of sin by you and your significant others.

Your children are not material things that you can just throw on the side like a can or a bottle of beer, You spent your whole life to try to score and Bam! responsibility hit your face like a bullet and you never expected. And now you wish you never have them, you have regrets cause suzzy or johnny down the road looks hotter than the one you left with all these years.

I think we really Need self respect and self dicipline to control these wicked doings. The government enforce the law so we can live safer on the island. We should bring back the old punishment, whatever commit the crime (cut it off) just save his miserable life so he can live with shame until his last breath. Better luck next time.

  • Be Advised: OMV enforcing tinting regulation, re-locating license sticker   1 year 15 weeks ago

Sure. Just keep your “personal property” in compliance with the law when NOT on personal property! If your “personal property” endangers the public…then maybe you should sit on your front porch and stare at your “tint” and funny looking “decals” while its in your drive way. Just like when you build a house… sure its “your” property, but there are still building regulations you need follow. We have a back-assward kinda island, so, if we are starting with the low-risk items first…so be it…it’s for everyone’s safety. Wouldn’t it suck if you made the first statistic of a casualty due to someone’s “black window” tint being too dark, on top of having a huge decal showing “follow the laws on the road” ? sheeze, the irony in that!

  • Be Advised: OMV enforcing tinting regulation, re-locating license sticker   1 year 15 weeks ago

Every government vehicles are authorize to be tinted for security reasons not mention. You are entitled on what you can put on your personal property or vehicle, but remember your vehicle is on public road utilize by the public.(you,I,and the rest of the island)"maintain by the government"for the public,so stop the madness and follow the law, last I check its a public road shared, NOT private. So you can tint your vehicle and drive it on your own property but when it gets on the public road that tint comes off. So the next election day mention that question to the running apponent see if they explain it you clearly,I'll stay with the bus catching and the fa'aku lifi. or ride my bicycle to where ever I go.

  • Be Advised: OMV enforcing tinting regulation, re-locating license sticker   1 year 15 weeks ago

Good for the island, too many vehicle not insured on the island, lets see who follow the law. I myself have one ka'avale and I will peel off my tint if the government enforce this. I understand when I bought my ka'avale from the dealer there was no tint on it, and my insure advise me if I add anything on my stock ka'avale I will loose money because the tint was not cover or it doesn't come with tint, and because its a added item not stock so I will pay out of my pocket if anything happens or get into an accident.
The factory made the windshield clear so we"the driver" can see around in all four corner and the blind sides of the ka'avale. And thats why we have sun visor to cover your maka's if the sun get in the way. So just obey the law and follow it or pay the fine. I know I'm not going to pay cause I've already peel off the tint so my manamea can see my cute face when I drive down the road.

  • “YOUR LESSON FOR TODAY”   1 year 15 weeks ago

Hey Timusa. Have we learned any thing from our lessons??!!!! Gotta give it to the senator still at it and did you get that poll done intrested in your findings. Have a wonderful day.

  • Be Advised: OMV enforcing tinting regulation, re-locating license sticker   1 year 15 weeks ago

The government is trying everything as possible to make our territory a safe place, like the tint removal on vehicles because its too dark. Since there are so many criminals surrounding our island the official and our law enforcement need to identify them while operating a vehicle, what if Joe driving that vehicle had a D.U.I last night and he killed or run over someone and he still driving? You don't want your children or family member to get run over by this mean son of a monkey again and again?
I stand by the government 99.99% on this, the other one % is that I still don't like them. I pay tax too just like any other citizen, I like to complain but rather follow the law cause I alone pay for some of it. Its not the government you should be pointing fingers at. Look in the mirror, you mark that X in the box on election day. Or ride the bus like me, you can always enjoy the view while your driver entertain you with his music.

  • Senate again rejects Jacinta Galeai to head DOE   1 year 15 weeks ago

The Acting Director of Education, who happens to be the Lt. Governor Faoa Sunia is the person who needs to Wake Up And Brew the Coffee. If he isn't capable of being the Acting Director than he should be bold and tell the Governor to assign someone else to be the Acting Director.

The problem of being an 'Acting' Director is that it is known that you don't have the knowledge or skills to be the Director, so you are being assigned to just "ACT".

DOE needs someone with experience, knowledge, good communication and decision-making skills who can influence the DOE workforce to "believe and perform"!!

The School Lunch program is a multi-million dollar operation. The last manager at school lunch was not found guilty of charges relating to school lunch. I agree with your position that the person who is in charge is questionable. However, the lady with the experience, Litea is keeping the program afloat. Sodexo was contracted to manage the School Lunch Program. Faoa should spend time to understand the role of Sodexo and force them to perform.

Faoa is the Acting Director and should take a serious approach in addressing the many issues of School Lunch. School Lunch requires someone with a Business background and has administrative experience. Wake Up Mr. Acting Director, Lt. Governor....DOE has hundreds of votes!

  • Op Ed: Who is looking out for the children?   1 year 15 weeks ago

refering to "Malo lava,"comments... thats not gonna help, unless you put some money amount behind it. Or unless the government put a big amount of fine infront of it. Its not the individuals fault, this falls on the whole family, kinda like a drug deal, don't say anything. We always find ways to hide the truth. Its been like this for ages and we live our lives wondering if it was a right thing or not because its an embarrasing to the family name and especially if your family have a high chief title in the village or itumalo, how is that going to look on your resume. Its because lack of understanding and lack of wisdom. We all have huge temples and churches around but thats is just for looks but wheres the teachings. Its the western style we watch on tv I think. I hope our citizen don't find this offensive for their eyes to see.

    very sad.

  • Be Advised: OMV enforcing tinting regulation, re-locating license sticker   1 year 15 weeks ago

Some don't have time to listen to your non-sense as well. First of all, people are entitled to their personal property regardless. You mentioned "decals borderline dangerous" but then again, it is the owners prerogative because it's a piece of property owned by the registered owner. Secondly, DPS do not have statistics to prove the number of accident caused by decals or tinting. Laws should tailored to high risk practice (DUI, underage drinking and etc.... ) bottom line is, if it's not a problem, don't try to make it an issue. Look around and observe government vehicles to make you understand my point. Our own leaders are the ones going against the law. Again, go figure!

  • Lawsuit against late DPS Lt. dismissed after 11 years   1 year 15 weeks ago

I 6thought the Police officer Brown was shot late than 2000? It is not been 11 years since then on this matter? Falsified the date this incident happened according to court replied. And what the paper works was filed. But they can appeal under the 9th Amendment otherwise.

  • UA 'FACEBOOK" FO'I PAGOTA   1 year 15 weeks ago

WOW!! just now they found out??? I've been seeing Lawrence Seva'aetasi, Thomas Siaumau, and their cellmates TAKING PICTURES on their cellphone and uploading them to their Facebooks. And then I saw them giving out this "cellphone number" to their friends....I even heard of Lawrence Seva'aetasi talking with a girl on this same cellphone a lot of times. SMH so sad that the guards didn't even suspect a thing. That says a lot about how secure the prison guards are. I found out about this while surfing on Facebook and came across these inmates' Facebooks making statuses, and talking to their friends and family online SMH.
