New Zealand is poised to give international assistance to Fiji as the deadly flooding which has already killed four people continues.
A New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Mfat) spokeswoman said Fiji had yet to call for international assistance, but officials were on standby to provide aid.
The ministry had been in contact with many of the New Zealanders in Fiji, "and none were reporting any injuries, or being in any danger", she said. None had required help.
