PM and others help Grace

The family of a four-year-old girl who cannot walk on her own is extremely grateful to Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi and several other ‘Good Samaritans.’ Grace Runa Misipati, of Ma’agao, has to be carried by her siblings.

Sometimes, she has to slide around the house because of an unidentified ailment in her right leg which causes her limb to bend on an angle. She has now been given the chance to get treatment from Shriner’s Hospital in Hawaii but her parents don’t have enough money for the extra costs.

Op-Ed: DISPOSABLE FEMALE CHILDREN AT AGE 14

I would like to add another twist in support of raising the legal age for marriage to 18. I do agree with everything stated by Mrs. Leuga Turner, Dr. J. Tuitele and Mrs. Ponausuia, but offer these additional thoughts for the purpose of provoking further discussion.

I’m fairly certain that until now it has not been widely known that the current legal age for marriage is 14 years, with parental consent.  Now that it has been brought to the attention of the public, this law can become a playing ground for sex offenders, pedophiles and sex traffickers.
