Uti and Family,

So sad to read in today's paper about Larry's passing last week. One of my original friends in American Samoa through Rotary and his ham radio work. He was also an occasional help with engineering issues at the old WVUV. Be strong and wish him God speed as you bid farewell this weekend.

BEDFORD, N.Y. (AP) -- The two sides of Mary Richardson Kennedy's grieving family faced off in court Friday, just hours before she was mourned at a wake at the estate where she committed suicide.

Details of the legal dispute were sealed by a judge, but it came as the Kennedy and Richardson families were finalizing arrangements for separate memorial services for the 52-year-old architect and environmentalist, who hanged herself Wednesday. Mary and Robert Kennedy had been going through a lengthy, contested divorce.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Faced with the prospect of losing both hands and her one remaining foot, a young Georgia woman battling to survive a case of flesh-eating bacteria that has already claimed one leg mouthed the words "Let's do this."

Aimee Copeland, 24, "shed no tears, she never batted an eyelash," her father, Andy Copeland, wrote on Facebook on Friday about the conversation he and his wife had with their daughter the day before.

"I was crying because I am a proud father of an incredibly courageous young lady," Copeland wrote.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Prosecutors in the Trayvon Martin case dumped a mountain of evidence on the public this week. In many criminal cases, that would bring clarity, start answering the basic questions.

But no one - not pundits, attorneys or the public - can safely say we're even close to knowing exactly how and why neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman shot and killed the 17-year-old in the black hoodie.

So many aspects of the Feb. 26 altercation and shooting in Sanford remain muddy. Who threw the first punch? Why did Zimmerman leave his car?

LBJ Medical Center has deferred its proposed facility fee increases that were to be effective next week, while a public hearing is being called for next month to receive comments on the fee hikes.

The government owned medical center announced last month its intention to hike facility fees for patients, with the effective date of May 21. At the time, the hospital hadn’t scheduled a public hearing, but the public was allowed to request one directly with LBJ.
