The American Samoa Under 19 national team suffered a massive 92-0 defeat at the hands of a much more experienced Samoa side which outplayed and outclassed them in all aspects of the game.

But despite the dismal score, American Samoa coach Leaupepe Terry Chang remained optimistic that his team will improve if they work hard to rectify the mistakes they made in Monday’s game.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the way the Manu Samoa games or rugby games have been manipulated by one person, Bill Hyman, over Channel 11. Rugby to many American Samoans is as important as American Football or Baseball. The United States Rugby Sevens team is very active in the IRB rugby world which is now preparing to enter the Olympic Games in 2016.

Hawaiian Airlines is adding two special flights between Honolulu and Pago Pago “to accommodate increased travel demand” during the upcoming holidays.

The flights will operate this year on Dec. 19 and on Jan. 2, 2013 — which are both Wednesdays.

The Honolulu-based carrier says Flight HA 1465 will depart Honolulu at 4:40 p.m. and arrive at Pago Pago around 9:30 p.m.

The return flight HA 1466 will depart Pago Pago the same evening at 11:20 p.m. and arrive in Honolulu the next morning at 5:35 a.m.

Local Chamber of Commerce chairman David Robinson says American Samoa's newly established relationship with Indonesia is a significant step in the territory’s expansion of its “economic horizons” in response to changing global economic conditions.

Robinson was a member of the territory’s delegation led by Gov. Togiola Tulafono that traveled to Indonesia in October this year. Also with the delegation was Lelei Peau, deputy director for the ASG Commerce Department.

StarKist Samoa staff members who underwent a recent Sensory Training Course. In a brief statement, the company said StarKist Samoa had conducted a USA Sensory Training Course at its plant which included members of management, salaried and hourly supervisors, and floor level employees.

Led by Sensory Scientist Mrs. Terriann Reilly and a couple of retired FDA experts in that area, training focused on all forms of tuna — raw, precooked, canned and pouch. It was an intensive three and half day course concentrating on every area to ensure fish quality and safety.
