The Department of Education was the main focus of the latest cabinet meeting, held on Tuesday at the Election Office, where Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga also took the opportunity to introduce Tuaolo Manaia Fruean as the newly appointed Commissioner of the Election Office, noting that Tuaolo is an asset to the new administration.

This year’s 2012-2013 American Samoa High School Athletic Association (ASHSAA) sports have concluded with a season that witnessed its share of fights and cancellation of playoffs, along with one real surprise in this year’s competition.
 
As each school year begins, so does football season which is the biggest draw of all of the ASHSAA sports. It was no surprise in this year’s football season, as the Varsity Tafuna Warriors dominated the regular season going into the playoffs, where they dominated again.
 

Mike Gabbard and Tulsi Gabbard’s non-profit organization Healthy Hawai'i Coalition (HHC) has been presenting its popular program, The Hawaiʻi Watershed Experience, for over 10 years in public and private elementary schools across the state. Close to 6,000 students in over 50 schools on Oʻahu, the Big Island, Maui, Kauaʻi and Molokaʻi have taken part in the program.
 

StarKist Co., owner of StarKist Samoa, has called on the federal government to renew a federal law that would continue to provide duty free access of its tuna products from Ecuador to the U.S. saying that a lapse in the federal program “could cause irreparable damage”.
 

The Ocean Science/Ocean Swimming (OS/OS) Class of Samoana High School will be showcasing their ‘Now What’ short films this morning at the Tauese P.F. Sunia Ocean Center during the Youth Ocean Summit 2013, that is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.
 
The high school credited OS/OS class that was implemented into the Department of Education with Samoana High School as the pilot school, started on January 9, 2012.
 

The Lolo Administration is embracing the relationship built by former Gov. Togiola Tulafono with the Indonesian government, which has indicated a desire to help the territory in  areas such as trade and economics. They have also offered to build a basketball court here.
 
The relationship began with Togiola inviting Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, the Indonesian Ambassador to the U.S. based in Washington D.C. to visit the territory last year.
