World famous Samoa Air has laid off staff after stopping flights to American Samoa. Gone too is its BN2 fleet of two aircraft, one of them sold to Real Tonga.
It’s Air Taxy to Savai’i Island remains together with the Cessna 712 which services it.
“It’s been a long and winding road and we still don’t have a level playing field,” said Chief Executive Officer, Chris Langton today.
Government has made the decision to take the running of Fagali’i Airport off Polynesian Airlines and hand it to Samoa Airport Authority, but the transfer still hasn’t happened yet, said Langton.
