28 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR STEALING $140
A man, who stole $140 from the home of a friend, has been sentenced by the High Court to serve 28 months at the Territorial Correctional Facility, after he was convicted of felony stealing.
Chief Justice Michael Kruse, during sentencing last Thursday, also ordered that Nick Motu pay a fine of $2,000. Kruse cited two reasons why the defendant has a lengthy jail term, although the amount of money, Motu stole was only $140.
