The body of rugby legend Papalii Peter 'Fats' Fatialofa was expected to arrive in Auckland last night.
The 54-year-old former Manu Samoa captain died of an apparent heart attack in Apia earlier this week.
His body is being accompanied by family members on a flight from the Samoan capital last night.
Spokesperson Edwin Puni said that a private family "lotu" will be held at his home later tonight.
However, members of public are welcomed to attend a service for Mr Fatialofa at the Vodafone Event Center in Manukau next Tuesday at 10am.
