An escaped prisoner from Tafa’igata is suspected to have been involved in the near-fatal stabbing of a businessman at Palisi on Thursday night.
The businessman, whose name is withheld, is recovering at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital.
A relative told the Sunday Samoan he suffered multiple stab wounds to his back and stomach.
He added that the injuries could have easily been fatal had the knife used in the attack hit the Palisi man’s heart.
The stabbing, according to the relative, occurred when the businessman reacted to a thief who broke into his home.
