The American Samoa Under-19 National Rugby Team recently had a worship service at Kanana Fou. They will be competing in the 2012 Oceania Under-19 Championship games that will take place from Nov. 26 to Dec. 6 in Apia, Samoa.

The teams that will be competing are: host team Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

The Election Office will once again have the Department of Public Safety provide and ensure security of the Election Office, its polling stations and officials during the run off election today. While it is a much smaller poll event from the general election held Nov. 6, where 5 gubernatorial teams ran, as well as faipule for the territory — security is said to be still high.

Chief Election Officer Soliai Tuipine Fuimaono has appealed to all residents of American Samoa for a peaceful and harmonious election day, as voters head today to the 45 polling stations territory-wide to cast ballots in the special election, which will decide the new governor and lieutenant governor.

The family of the man who was pulled out from a stream in Matu’u and identified as Tu’ufuli “Duki” Savea are suspecting that there was foul play in Duki’s death. 

While investigations are underway by Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) since the man was found last week Friday, the family is hoping that the police come to a conclusion in the case of their relative.

The Attorney General’s office will be filing felony charges against two men and a juvenile accused of assaulting a man in the presence of his five year old daughter in Lepuapua, Sunday evening over a misunderstanding.

Jovian Toloa, Nisani Euini and the male juvenile made their initial appearance in the District Court. They are currently facing public peace disturbance and third degree assault charges, but the government anticipates felony counts as well.
