The Port of Pago Pago will host 16 cruise ship visits in 2013, carrying up to 40,000 passengers and crew.Pago Pago had nine cruise ship visits in 2010 and in 2011 there were 12. This year there was a record number of 17 cruise ship visits, close to American Samoa’s target of 20 a year as outlined in its Tourism Master Plan. The first ship to arrive next year will be Phoenix Reisen’s Artania on January 31.
