14 qualify in singles, with 10 from the territory for next month’s POJC

The final day for singles play is in the books for the International Tennis Federation (ITF) East Pacific Qualifying 2012 Tournament for Junior tennis players eighteen years of age and younger, with the top players being selected to play next month in the Pacific Oceania Junior Championship (POJC) that will be taking place in Fiji from August 6-10.

The top players from this qualifier will represent the East Pacific.

The singles tournament took place this week from Monday through Friday at the Lions Park tennis courts, with the doubles tournament taking place today.

Originally, it was the top two players from each age group, 18 & under, 15 & under and 12 & under from both the boys and girls division, which made it a total of 12 total players from this tournament representing the East Pacific. The tournament was later allowed to add two more players, sending a total of 14 players to the POJC next month.
