“WHAT FEE IS NEXT?”

Dear Editor:

I thank you for your article exposing ANZ bank's latest example of exploiting the Territory by charging business customers a fee for handling cash transactions. Strange, I always thought that's what banks are in business for. But, if anyone could call this nightmare a bank, they would belong in a nut house.

Can anyone stop this outfit's treatment of its customers or charging fees, which would be unheard of anywhere but here? Where is consumer protection or the Chamber of Commerce? Someone needs to step up to the plate!

What will ANZ come up with next? A $10 per 15-minute fee for the chair they provide— while you wait one to two hours for your number to be called. Maybe a $5 charge for the scrap of paper handed out with your number on it. What about a parking fee?

All charges are in their favor; easy when you’re a monopoly but some of their numbers just don't add up. Take tellers for instance—10 customers in bank, 4 tellers. 30 customers show up, 3 tellers. 60 customers enter, 2 tellers. Over 100 customers— you said it— just 1 teller!!

There just seems to be no end to the misery we're put through to bank at this so- called financial institution whose sole purpose is to care less for their customers and milk them for every cent possible.
